Submit a Story
agreatplace.ca considers non-fiction entries and is happy to post every submission. However, only certain stories will be selected as a feature. We suggest stories run no longer than 1,000 words in length.
You do not have to be a good writer to share your story.
If you have a powerful story to share but don't feel confident with your writing style, please mention this with your entry. agreatplace.ca wants to help others tell their story in every way possible. We welcome you to work alongside our editor, through email correspondence, in helping relay your experience. If you're happy with our editor's suggestions, you are welcome to submit the edited final copy as your submission. You may still be chosen as a feature. There is no cost for this service.
To be considered for a feature...
In order to have your submission considered for a feature, please know that agreatplace.ca is looking for stories that focus on inspiring others in a positive format. We like to see a creative writing style that helps readers identify with the story. We are looking for a piece of advice or life lesson that is delivered in a subtle way so that the experience stays with the reader long after finishing the article.
A submission told in the first-person works well with the feature format. We like our readers to experience the story first-hand along with the author.
Only chosen feature writers are invited to include a link to their blog, as well as a short, personal biography to accompany their submission. In order to validate this information, writers need to provide an email address. Please be sure that this address is entered correctly as it is necessary for your story to be considered.
